What to Expect When You Come to Ancaster Animal Hospital
Upon arrival you and your pet will be greeted by one of our receptionists or technicians, and will be brought to a clean examination room. Our appointment slots are 20 -30 minutes for each patient and our goal is to see all of our clients and patients in a timely manner. However, emergencies happen and one would naturally expect them to be given priority. There may be times when unexpected circumstances will create delays for you and your pets. During these delays please feel free to enjoy a cup of coffee at our reception area, knowing that we are working with all possible haste to minimize any delays, as much as we can.
At the beginning of your visit one of our highly trained Registered Veterinary Technicians will meet you in the exam room. They will gather a brief history, any concerns you have, and some clinical data such as temperature, heart rate and respiration rate. This history and the data play an important role in assessing the overall health of your pet. Shortly afterwards you will be greeted by the veterinarian who will examine your pet and in some cases, ask more detailed questions. The veterinarian will answer any questions or concerns that you have and inform you about all the issues that need to be addressed along with further diagnostics or treatments. Once you make an informed decision the diagnostics and treatment procedures, if needed, can be started. Finally, you will see the registered technician again to wrap things up and they will provide you with further educational information and answers to any additional wellness and care questions that you may have. Our receptionist/manager will handle the billing and schedule any follow up meetings, as needed.
We look forward to meeting your family, both animal and human.
